JobBoardGeek, The podcast about the business of connecting candidates and employers has returned with the 20th episode. Hosts Steven Rothberg, Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of College Recruiter, and Jeff Dickey-Chasins aka the Job Board Doctor are joined by guest Stephen O' Donnell of National Online Recruitment Awards.

Our hosts kick off the episode with some discussion surrounding the large layoffs that have been happening at Workrise. Jeff wonders how they continue to get funding despite their continuous lay offs. Steven is not amused by the large layoffs but suggests that, unlike other recessions, those who lost their job will have an easier time finding a new one in today's labor market.

Stephen joins our hosts to share his background of over 35 years in the recruitment industry and to further discuss the NORAs. The National Online Recruitment Awards initially started out as a marketing exercise, until Stephen realized how much effort and work goes into running successful award events. Job seekers nominate the sites for the NORAs and Stephen judges each site from a candidates perspective. He calls himself the hardest working job seeker in the UK, as he signs up for 600+ recruitment websites to evaluate the candidate experience on each site.

Stephen talks about the TATech events and what he envisions for the future of these events. He predicts events in the future will be hybrid, but he expects many people will still attend in-person events to meet people face to face for collaboration and partnership opportunities.
