The group goes on to examine the importance of soft skills versus hard skills. Steven chimes in stating, “We can teach a candidate or an employee how to read a balance sheet, but we cannot teach them how to be a critical thinker.” He describes how employers should place more emphasis on soft skills in order to be more inclusive in their hiring process. The three discuss how employers can use these assessments as a tool to improve their diversity and inclusion efforts.
