Betting on What’s Next in HR Tech with Special Guest ‘Oz’ Khan

In this episode, Pete welcomes Usman ‘Oz’ Khan, Senior Vice President of ADP Ventures, for a look inside the corporate venture engine helping shape what comes next in HR, payroll, and workforce technology.

Oz pulls back the curtain on ADP Ventures’ operator-led approach to corporate venture capital. He shares how the team builds businesses, develops strategic partnerships, bets on specific enterprise use cases, and uses ADP’s ecosystem and marketplace to help emerging solutions reach scale.

Pete and Oz also examine the rapidly changing AI marketplace, including what is moving from slideware to shipped software, why established providers may be better positioned than many expect, and why impressive demos can still fall short on trust and reliability. From systems of action and agent-driven workflows to data readiness, interoperability, security, and trust, Oz shares what must be true before intelligent technology can operate and orchestrate safely across mission-critical processes.

The discussion also challenges the idea that AI value begins and ends with cost reduction. Oz argues that the real opportunity is to deliver better service, remove transactional friction, and build more connected experiences while balancing ambition with the discipline required to invest, integrate, and scale responsibly.
